NEWS YOU CAN USE: THE MORTGAGE COMMITMENT LETTER

It happens often…the buyer is set with a mortgage commitment letter that locks in the rate and terms of the loan up to a specified end date.  And then the seller needs to extend the closing, the underwriter can’t finish the paperwork, the contractor has not finished the repairs.  What can you do when your mortgage commitment letter is set to expire before you are actually able to sign your final docs?
