MORTGAGE MONDAY: AVOIDING THE SLICK TRICKS

Just like a car salesman, the mortgage lender will ask you a few questions to determine what your focus will be as you shop for a loan.  Will it be the rate?  The monthly payment?  He will then play with the numbers to create the story that is most likely to win your business.  DON’T BE FOOLED!  Monthly payments do matter, but don’t overlook rate comparsions and the details of adjustable rates or buy downs that he may propose.  Here are some guidelines to keep you on your toes.  BUYER BEWARE!
